Apple has debuted its latest line of phones, with its new $799 iPhone 13 available in five colors, including a highly anticipated pink option.
In addition to pink, the new iPhone is available in blue, “midnight” black, “starlight” white and red.
The iPhone 13 features an exterior design largely unchanged from its predecessor, which is available in purple, blue, green, red, white and black.
The new $699 iPhone 13 mini is also available in pink, blue, “midnight” black, “starlight” white and red.
Both the $699 and $799 new iPhone models come with major improvements to the phone’s camera and processor.
Among the most notable upgrades is the new “cinematic mode” that functions as a kind of “portrait mode” for video. The feature — which Apple touted in a video featuring “The Hurt Locker” and “Zero Dark Thirty” director Kathryn Bigelow — will allow users to focus photos in a way that mimics Hollywood-quality films, according to Apple.
A new “photographic styles” feature will also let users change tone, warmth and other aspects of photos in real time, the company said.
Both options also come with a major battery upgrade. The iPhone 13 provides 2.5 more hours of life than its predecessor and the iPhone 13 mini gets 1.5 extra hours of power, the company said.
The main difference between the two options is that the cheaper one comes with a slightly smaller 5.4-inch display, compared with the $799 iPhone’s 6.1-inch display.
“These are the best iPhones we’ve ever created,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said Tuesday in a video to unveil the new products. He touted Apple’s efforts to produce the “very best products and services to enrich people’s lives.”
Apple on Tuesday also unveiled the $999 iPhone 13 Pro and $1,099 iPhone 13 Pro Max, which are available in just four colors: sierra blue, silver, gold and graphite.
The highest-end phones will also remain mostly unchanged on the exterior from its predecessor but feature stronger cameras and processors. They will also have “Super Retina XDR Displays” that the company said are 25 percent brighter than previous models.
The most expensive iPhone Pro models will also come with a 1 terabyte storage option — the most storage on any iPhone ever.
Pre-orders for all of the new iPhones begin Friday, with availability beginning Sept. 24.
