Ayatollah Khamenei calls for 'revenge' on Trump for Soleimani strike

Iran’s supreme leader issued a warning to former President Trump vowing “revenge” over the killing of top general Qassem Soleimani.

The tweet from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday depicts the likeness of Trump on the golf course being targeted by a drone flying overhead.

“Revenge is inevitable,” says the tweet, translated from Farsi.

The post comes a little more than a year after Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, was killed in a US airstrike ordered by the Trump administration.

Khamenei’s tweet included the same remarks he made in a Dec. 16 post stating, “Those who ordered the murder of General Soleimani as well as those who carried this out should be punished. This revenge will certainly happen at the right time.”

Earlier this month, Twitter blocked a tweet from Khamenei casting doubt on the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines and calling the ones made in the US and UK “completely untrustworthy.”
