Police successfully coaxed peacock that reportedly flew the coop from the Prospect Park Zoo back to its home Monday.
Cops chased the brilliant bird through Crown Heights after witnesses called 911 to report the peacock running free along Flatbush Avenue near Eastern Parkway around 6:15 a.m., amNewYork Metro reported.
The elusive peacock had police running through traffic, with several officers spotted trying to surround the bird with little luck.
Eventually, the officers managed to steer the bird toward the zoo, where it eventually flew over the gated entrance.
The zoo itself has been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic since March 16.
A representative from the zoo did not respond to a request for comment.
