Meet Maki Itoh – the latest addition to the AEW Women’s Division

Maki Itoh recently made headlines when AEW announced her in the Japanese bracket of the AEW Women’s World Title Tournament. The internet wrestling community couldn’t fathom her beauty and cuteness, making her an overnight talk of the wrestling town.

Itoh made her pro wrestling debut aged 19 at an event organized by DDT Pro-Wrestling. She is a six-time Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion in DDT and a one-time International Princess Champion in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.

Before being a wrestler, Maki Itoh was a part of the J-Pop group, LinQ. She was a part of the group from 2012 to 2017 before joining Tokiwoikuru in 2017.

Maki Itoh couldn’t get past the first round of the AEW Women’s World Title Tournament. She lost to eventual winner Ryu Mizunami, but she enticed fans with her looks. Kenny Omega had also said recently that he knows there’s a demand for Itoh, and rightfully so.

Maki Itoh’s AEW PPV debut

Maki Itoh made her AEW Pay-per-view debut last night at AEW Revolution. She replaced an injured Reba to team with Dr. Britt Baker to take on Thunder Rosa and Riho on the Revolution Buy-In. Itoh received a huge pop from fans in attendance despite being on the heel team.

Dr. Britt Baker and Maki Itoh got the victory for their team, and her alliance with Baker means she is now heel. Itoh appeared on the show again after the Women’s Championship match between Mizunami and Hikaru Shida. Both Itoh and Baker, alongside Nyla Rose, attacked the champion and challenger before Thunder Rosa came out to make the same.

So that was it! Maki Itoh is now a part of the AEW roster, although an official announcement is pending. What do you think of Maki? Did you see her debut? Let us know in the comments below!
