Husband of ex-US Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin is seeking a divorce

Todd Palin, the husband of 2008 vice presidential-candidate of the US Sarah Palin, filed for divorce on Friday, as per US media.

The papers lodged in Alaska’s Anchorage Supreme Court referred the pair by their initials instead of their full names. The initials, birth as well as wedding dates match with the Palins.

Reportedly, paperwork cites incompatibility of temperament in the marriage as the reason behind Todd filing for divorce from his wife of 31 years.

Todd and Sarah tied the knot in the year 1988 and share 5 kids together.

The papers mention that the couple is finding living together impossible due to their incompatible temperament. The papers lodged by Todd include the initials SLP meaning Sarah Louise Palin and Todd Mitchell Palin listed as TMP. They also include the birth date of their youngest child, son Trig Paxon Van Palin, who is listed as TPVP.

As per the filing, the two want joint child custody for Trig.

The papers were submitted on 6 September, just over a week after the 31st wedding anniversary of Todd and Sarah.

Notably, Sarah Palin became the governor of Alaska in the year 2006 but resigned from the position in the year 2009.

She rose to prominence after becoming the running mate of Republican Sen. John McCain in the presidential election of 2008. Sadly, McCain and Sarah both lost the presidential election to Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

Since that time, Sarah and Todd, an oil fielder and commercial fisherman, appeared on many television reality shows. In fact, she also holds a rewarding career being a well-known public speaker as well as an author of two top-selling books.

While Sarah served as the Alaska governor, Todd was referred to as Alaska’s “first dude” by the supporters. He has majorly eschewed the press since Sarah failed the vice-president endeavor.
