Joe Wicks donates ‘every single penny’ from YouTube PE sessions to NHS

Joe Wicks has announced that he will donate ‘every penny’ his YouTube PE sessions make to the NHS.

The fitness coach launched his PE series when schools in the UK shut so that children could remain fit and active at home.

Joe, 33, has created dozens of videos for kids — and families — to work out to with child-friendly exercises.

Joe, also known as The Body Coach, took to Instagram to reveal his decision.

He wrote: ‘Words can’t express how happy and proud I have felt every day this week as the nations P.E. teacher.

‘I’ve been overwhelmed with the response and the support it’s had from everyone.

‘As a result of so many people viewing the #PEWithJoe workouts on YouTube the advertising revenue generated has been unlike anything I’ve seen or experienced on my channel before.

‘So I’ve decided that as long as I’m the nations P.E. teacher, every single penny of the money generated on these videos is going to the place where we need it the most right now. All of it is going straight to the NHS, to support the real heroes right now.

‘Thank you for watching, joining in and sharing… I’m loving being your P.E. Teacher and now you can watch again, knowing you’re not only staying fit, you’re also helping raise money for the NHS.

‘See you Monday at 9am.’

Joe has gained many parents as fans with Loose Women panelist Stacey Solomon often sharing a daily Instagram Story of her children, and sometimes partner Joe Swash, working out to the videos.

Jamie Oliver’s wife Jools commented: ‘So lovely thank you @thebodycoach our kids have loved having you in our house. Big hugs to your gorgeous brood.’

Mullingar man Niall Horan wrote: ‘Incredible stuff wicksy,’ while This Morning’s Ruth Langsford said: ‘Fantastic Joe… Congratulations! Thank you for supporting the @nhswebsite Keep up the good work.’

The father-of-two first announced he was beginning online PE classes on March 19 and streams the sessions live on his YouTube channel.

He has had great success with the series so far and his popularity has grown yet again.

Meanwhile he and wife Rosie had an ‘early Christmas present’ when they welcomed their second child in December.
