Lawsuit accuses Hamptons yacht captain of raping unconscious woman

A Hamptons yacht captain allegedly raped an unconscious woman who passed out on his charter boat after a day of partying, according to court papers.

The accuser, a 54-year-old single mother whose name is being withheld by The Post because she is a possible sex-crime victim, claims she met Cameron McLellan on Sept. 15, 2018, as she walked along the Sag Harbor waterfront with her college-age son.

As they chatted, McLellan, 60, invited her to a party for a wine company being held the next day on his 63-foot catamaran, Heron.

The 11 a.m. event was replete with booze and marijuana, the accuser claims in court papers, as the sailboat cruised around Sag Harbor and Shelter Island before returning to the village.

McLellan, who was crewing the boat alone, remained sober, and while the other 15 or so guests departed around 5 p.m., the woman was too intoxicated to leave and stayed on board, according to the Brooklyn Federal Court litigation filed Dec 9.

The alleged victim claims she passed out on a bed inside the boat, awoke to McLellan having sex with her and was unable to push him off. She passed out again before waking up and leaving, according to the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.

It’s unclear why the accuser waited more than two years to bring her allegation to court. Sag Harbor police have no record of the incident.

The allegations are “completely bogus and demonstrably so. There’s independent evidence that undermines the validity of her claims,” said McLellan’s attorney Isabelle Kirshner, who said he “unequivocally denies” the charges.

McLellan advertises the Heron for “luxury charters,” private sailing and parties, corporate events, and more up. The boat includes two large trampolines and a centralized cockpit, according to the company’s web site.
