PS5 ‘Future of Gaming’ June event: game announcements, trailers, news

On Thursday, June 11, Sony will reveal more details surrounding the PlayStation 5 and some of the system’s new games. The company promised to show games from “studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established.”

Sony says its showcase of games will go for “a bit more than an hour,” and said it would still have more updates following the event, likely up until the console’s planned launch during holiday 2020. (Despite concerns of manufacturing delays due to the spread of the coronavirus, Sony recommitted to that date in a financial earnings statement released in May.)

Earlier this year, Sony shared information about the PlayStation 5’s GPU, CPU and internal storage in a developer-focused event. It also showed off the console’s new DualSense controller, which has a Create button and a built-in microphone array. We also got some sense of what PS5 games could look like in May, thanks to a Unreal Engine 5 demo video released by Epic Games.
