Happy 94th birthday, Queen Elizabeth!
The Queen participated in a public event for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown to celebrate her birthday.
On Saturday, the head of the royal family partook in a socially-distanced, slimmed-down version of the Trooping of the Colour ceremony at Windsor Castle to mark her special day, which passed on April 21.
Normally, the Trooping of the Colour includes a military parade, and then a gathering of the Windsor family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to view a flypast, according to People
The festivities were thrown together in just two weeks. This is the first time they took place outside of Buckingham Palace in Elizabeth’s 68-year-reign, reports The Telegraph
Despite her solo status, the monarch was pleased with the honor. Photos show the longtime ruler smiling wide, while dressed in a blue coat and matching hat.
