Well-known television star and racer Jessi Combs passed away on Tuesday in a jet car crash while trying to beat her own land speed world record in Oregon’s Alvord Desert. She was 39 years old.

Combs, titled as the ‘fastest woman on four wheels,’ set a women’s land speed record back in the year 2013. She hit the record-breaking number at almost 393 mph by driving the North American Eagle. Later, she beat her own speed record in the year 2016 at 440 mph.

Both of these achievements were performed on the Alvord Desert’s dried lake bed. Previous year’s attempt to beat her own record ended quite prematurely, though she managed to arrive at 483 mph before mechanical troubles.

During Tuesday’s attempt, Combs was trying to beat her 2016 world record, which required her to break land speeds at 512 mph.

Just a few days ago, Combs had shared an image of her along with the speed car on Instagram as the team prepared for this recent world record.

Combs’ demise was confirmed by her love, Terry Madden. He shared the sad news of Combs’ tragic accident through his Instagram handle on Wednesday.

So I don’t know how to say any of this but it all needs said. I have never loved or been loved by anyone as much as this amazing woman @thejessicombs she was truly my unicorn and I enjoyed every single minute that I had with her. She was the most amazing spirit that I have ever or will ever know. Unfortunately we lost her yesterday in a horrific accident, I was the first one there and trust me we did everything humanly possible to save her!! I’m not ok, but she is right here keeping my going-I made her a promise that if this didn’t go well that I would make sure and do good with it, please help me with that, you are all going to see things on news please believe non of them.. we the family have drafted a release and it will come out today with more proper info, but I was just woke up by the media tracking me down and I need everyone of her true friends to do what she would want “take a deep breath, relax” and do good things with this. Please donate to nothing, I know there will be people try, we are finishing the documentary as she wished and the world will know the truth and her foundation will use those funds to do amazing things in this world and make her legacy live on properly. In the coming days her family and I will get the proper channels put together that you can then donate to that foundation but until you hear it from me wait please-I don’t want some asshole profiting off this (all ready had one try to sell us a video)… . . Love you all and thank you all for being such amazing friends to her, she dedicated her life to helping support others dreams and I promise I will continue that.

Combs wasn’t just a fast, competitive racer but was also a skilled fabricator and builder. Besides, she was also seen often on television, appearing as the host of shows like ‘Overhaulin’’ and ‘All Girls Garage.’ She even hosted a season of the show ‘Mythbusters.’

She was an impressive power in motoring and racing regardless of gender. Being a woman, she accomplished everything despite the resistance of the so-called male-dominated society. Jessi Combs was a role model for the other women who dreamt of achieving something in motorsport.

In a statement, her family said that a celebration of Combs’ life is being planned. Besides, a foundation is also being created to continue Combs’ efforts to empower young girls and women to fulfill their dreams.

Brooke Skylar Richardson, the ex-high school cheerleader from Ohio accused of murdering and burying her newborn daughter was acquitted on Thursday by jurors.

The Warren County jury deliberated for 4 hours before reaching the verdict of acquitting Brooke Skylar Richardson, 20, of the aggravated murder, child endangerment, and involuntary manslaughter charges.

Richardson as well as her parents, who were seated in the front row, sobbed as the verdict was being handed.

However, the jurors found her guilty for gross abuse of a corpse for which sentencing will be held in the court on Friday. It carries a maximum penalty for up to one-year prison sentence, but she may get probation.

The prosecutors contended that Richardson didn’t have any intention of keeping her newborn and wanted to maintain a perfect life. They said that she concealed her pregnancy and upon giving birth, she buried the newborn in her parents’ backyard back in May of 2017.

Richardson’s defense, however, refused that she murdered her daughter whom she named as ‘Annabelle.’ They claimed that the baby was stillborn and that Richardson was scared at the time.

The remains of the baby were discovered in July of 2017 in the village Carlisle.

Richardson would have faced a lifetime in prison sentence if she were convicted.

The prosecutors said that the cheerleader had looked up the internet to know how to get rid of an infant. In fact, they even played a video clip for the jurors of Richardson’s interview with the police where she said the infant might have made noises and moved.

Stuart Bassman, a Cincinnati psychologist said that Richardson was manipulated for making untrue statements during the interrogations.

Her lawyers had asked twice to move Richardson’s trial, saying that massive publicity was being fuelled by the prosecution. However, the Warren County Judge Donald Oda II refused their notions.

Todd Palin, the husband of 2008 vice presidential-candidate of the US Sarah Palin, filed for divorce on Friday, as per US media.

The papers lodged in Alaska’s Anchorage Supreme Court referred the pair by their initials instead of their full names. The initials, birth as well as wedding dates match with the Palins.

Reportedly, paperwork cites incompatibility of temperament in the marriage as the reason behind Todd filing for divorce from his wife of 31 years.

Todd and Sarah tied the knot in the year 1988 and share 5 kids together.

The papers mention that the couple is finding living together impossible due to their incompatible temperament. The papers lodged by Todd include the initials SLP meaning Sarah Louise Palin and Todd Mitchell Palin listed as TMP. They also include the birth date of their youngest child, son Trig Paxon Van Palin, who is listed as TPVP.

As per the filing, the two want joint child custody for Trig.

The papers were submitted on 6 September, just over a week after the 31st wedding anniversary of Todd and Sarah.

Notably, Sarah Palin became the governor of Alaska in the year 2006 but resigned from the position in the year 2009.

She rose to prominence after becoming the running mate of Republican Sen. John McCain in the presidential election of 2008. Sadly, McCain and Sarah both lost the presidential election to Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

Since that time, Sarah and Todd, an oil fielder and commercial fisherman, appeared on many television reality shows. In fact, she also holds a rewarding career being a well-known public speaker as well as an author of two top-selling books.

While Sarah served as the Alaska governor, Todd was referred to as Alaska’s “first dude” by the supporters. He has majorly eschewed the press since Sarah failed the vice-president endeavor.
