Saoirse Ronan becomes the second-youngest actress to get four nominations for the Oscars

The nomination for the ninety-second Academy Awards was finally announced on Monday. Making history, Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for her performance in Little Woman. This is Saoirse’s fourth Academy Awards nomination.

Saoirse is the second-youngest performer to have been nominated for the Oscars after Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer is the youngest to make history by making it to four Oscar nominations and is just a few months younger than Saoirse.

Jennifer made it to her fourth Oscar nomination in the year 2015 for the film Joy. Jennifer was four months younger back than Saoirse’s current age.

Moreover, Saoirse will be facing stiff competition in the category of the Best Actress in the Academy Awards this year. Amongst the other nominees in the category are Renee Zellweger for Judy, Cynthia Erivo for Harriet, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, and Charlize Theron for Bombshell.

The Irish Actress made it to her first nomination for the Oscars at the age of thirteen in the category supporting Actress for Atonement in 2008.

Saoirse was nominated for the second time in 2016 in the category for Best Actress for Brooklyn. Her third nomination for the prestigious awards was in 2018 for Best Actress category for Lady Bird.

Furthermore, Saoirse has been nominated for a Bafta early in this month.

Little Women saw several nominations for the Academy Awards this year dominating the list of nominees. The movie made it to the nomination for the Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, and for Best Picture along with Best Actress.

Besides, the movie has been critically acclaimed with IMBD rating of 8.3 ratings.

The announcement for the nominations was held by live streaming that was presented by Issa Rae and John Cho.

The ninety-second Academy Awards will be held on the 9th of February in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatres.
